Monday Miracle

Monday Miracle – everybody has one.

Take a look inside of yourself or around you, there you will uncloak a Monday Miracle. One of my Monday Miracles will happen in about 20 minutes this morning as I begin my radio interview with Renee Bobb about my book, Climb Every Obstacle: Eliminate Your Limits!   I am excited about what this new experience will herald-a new day filled with the potential of mind, spirit, and action.

Everyday contains opportunities, some call them miracles, but I have decided to concentrate on Monday miracles since it is an active means of attracting new bounties.

I ask you to join me in creating intentional Monday miracles. Here is the suggested process:

1. Wake up (regardless of the time of the day) and meditate. Wake up and feel alive. Take 10 minutes. Really get down deep into your internal awareness and meditate on what you want. Recommendation: CD: Meditation-Be Still by Barbara Faison (www.barbarafaison.com)
2. Come clean. Really clean up any lingering mess. Ask for forgiveness, forgive yourself and disallow negativity.  Then take the time to refresh your inner happiness; tap into your passion and enjoy the moments where you were funny, joyful, spiritually uplifted, attuned, in your natural zone of expression.
3. Quiet down. Take a few minutes on Mondays to quiet external noise and allow yourself to experience quiet peace.
4. Clear Your Focus. Clearly, vividly, expressly focus on ONE thing and only ONE thing every Monday. The next Monday you may choose to shift your focus to another thing or remain focused on what miracle you want to manifest.
5. See the end. See your finish point. Be in the scenery and experience all of the expressions that accompany embracing your Monday Miracle.

This process may require some practice for those who are beginning to Manifest on Mondays, but in a short time, with direct commitment, you will accelerate through these steps with ease and purpose.

Begin today…right now.
Manifest your Monday right now and let us know the result….Be well, be clear, and expect miracles.

Friday Funnies

Laughter is medicinal according to author Bill Sears. He contends that God Loves Laughter in his book. Phyllis Diller seems to agree that laughter is the best medicine when she made this pun, “Look at Bob Hope. Look at Milton Berle, George Burns. Look how long they lived.  Seeing the funny side of things keeps you alive.”

Laughter may cultivate optimism. With that in mind, especially since laughter is therapy for those who climb obstacles, I  will devote Fridays to laughter. You may find a joke, riddle, quote, book recommendation, or a cartoon to lighten your life.  This is my first installment.

Laugh – love LIFE!

How do radios greet each other?

                                                                                    A. With airwaves

LOL!

Send me your jokes. I may publish them here, but they must be clean and contain no profanity. Let’s keep laughter a loud joke.

You Didn’t Say That!

You Didn’t Say That-no you didn’t!

We are bombarded with a minimum of 70,000 thoughts day and night. New science suggests that the number of thoughts that we process through our mind now reaches over a million given the frenetic, over stimulated environment we now live in. And, researchers add that almost 70% of those 1.2 million thoughts are negative. It causes one to wonder why there is so much stress, anger, and worry in the world.

Negative thoughts are learned. They come from previous messages that we have internalized, as early as childhood, which we have personalized and adopted as truth. Nothing could be further from the truth.

You are not those negative messages.

You were created with an inner happiness thermometer that should be blasting with joy, tranquility, understanding, love and compassion.  Happiness is natural to our being.

Thoughts become things, varied behaviorist, including those featured in The Secret: The Movie, validate this point.  When your life expressions are sourced from inner happiness you rise to your innate nobility and you walk and talk with an irresistible confidence that magnetizes and magnifies what you want and who you are. You begin to discover a vast unlimited power within yourself that frees you from fear and outer manipulation.

This is exactly why I opened my book, Climb Every Obstacle: Eliminate Your Limits, with a chapter that teaches you how to release your fear.  Fears become obstacles, fear destroys inner happiness. In the book you learn how to change 101 obstacles into opportunities- true opportunities for living well and happy.

You tap into your inner happiness with a powerful self belief that you are happy and deserve to be happy. Then we become beacons, we experience abundance and experience exhilarating tranquility.

Inner happiness already exists within all of us, no exception.  But because of our programming, it is clouded or covered over with mundane distractions and distortions.  You are whole and happy NOW!

Negative chatter is known to contribute to suicide, depression, obesity, bulimia, anorexia, fear, doubt, cancer, high blood pressure, autoimmune disease, stroke, heart attacks, infertility, impotence, loneliness, bullying, criticism, anger and a host of other physical, social and mental ills that stem from that 70% negative dialogue that goes on in our heads. Think about how we are bombarded and over stimulated day and night with images that do not feed our happiness. Yet, we thirst for release.

There is a reason why the new television show Secret Millionaire is a blockbuster hit. In fact the last show with millionaire Jerry Farber closes with this remark from him “if you want inner happiness do something for somebody else.” We all want to feel good even if it is vicariously.

In fact studies have shown that our mood is elevated just by the act of watching someone else do an act of kindness. Remember thoughts become things and the thing that we all want is happiness. It is just that basic.

Let us suppose our life is a tree. The laws of nature prove that if we water the tree with nourishment it will grow green and produce fruit. The same is true with our inner dialogue. If we water our minds with nourishing, positive inner happiness messages our tree will bear sweet, succulent fruit otherwise we will cultivate bitter, sour fruit and eventually our tree will become diseased and die.   One happy inner thought bears more fruit and life energy than ten sour thoughts.

Consciously change. Wipe your inner slate clean—like a tabla rosa.  Let me start by giving everyone this exercise:

For the next 21 days, the amount of time for your brain to create new pathways and habits, I want you to repeat to yourself ONLY positive words. Stand in front of a mirror with your hand over your heart and repeat something like this: In my world nothing ever goes wrong, or I am me and I love me and my world, or I am a happy and joyful being and then touch your head. Repeat these mantras declarations often every day for 21 days with a gorgeous smile and I guarantee you will feel a transformation and shift to a restful pace of inner happiness. Repetition and emotion are the most powerful way to change mind responses.

Next, I want you to pay attention to the mental pollution that goes on in your mind and then diffuse the negativity by following these ABCD steps:.

Ask yourself – is this true? One of the best ways to recognize these automatic negative feelings is to be still, meditate, pause and slow down and listen to the sickening inner dialogue.  Then, question the validity of the thought and immediately take the second step which is to brand a new belief.

Brand into your mind that you are wonderful, exciting, lovable, valuable. Go back to your 21 day exercise if you need too and use those positive words to create your inner happiness.

Combat and challenge negative self-talk. That’s what I had to do. Call it out, fight for your inner happiness. Say out loud, You DIDN’T say that, get an attitude about it, be emphatic- your happiness depends on it.

DO your bucket list now. By this I mean that inner happiness requires that you start doing the fun and exciting things that you enjoy now rather than wait until you can wear purple – build inner happiness in the present without doubt or fear.

Remember thoughts become things and the thing that you deserve is happiness. This is your birthright – nobility and happiness.

Femininity is Back

Femininity is Back – I am woman!

Femininity is more than the dress or skirt that ladies wear. It is more than the glamour she exudes. Female allure is more than hairstyle or body size. It is smartness which balances the inner and outward harmony.

Women spirit is dynamic energy that signifies grace, compassion, and confidence. I thank Michelle Obama for who she is…a strong, confident, intelligent, self-assured, mother-wife who understands balance. I love a woman who claims her style and pays for it from her own budget of inner assurance. This type of woman can look you in the eye as she stands tall with grace.

Mrs. Obama is feminine. She has shifted the hard lines of feminism. First Lady elects to “stand by her man” and offers no apology for it. This is good news, actually great news. The emancipation which she represents is refreshing to women, and the men who support their women. This liberation frees ladies who are challenged by her social identity, who are manipulated by professional dictum that rewards “hardness” rather than our innate compassion, or are stressed trying to multi-task (as a parent, child of elderly parents, girlfriend, wife, earner) in a competitive world.

Ladies, we can have it all. We can love and stand by our man in public now. It is refreshing to me that I can be vulnerable, stand beside him, expect protection, and leave identities that no longer work for me and still feel whole. I don’t want to change my flat tire, even though I can. I don’t want to “catfight” with women, instead I want to encourage her and support her needs fully aware of our commonality. I don’t want to live my life as a single woman, even though I am more than capable of taking care of myself.

Michelle Obama made all of this alright for me. I recently read, The Ring Formula by psychologist Dr. Alduan Tart where he says that men are looking for women with old-fashioned values and a smart mind. This book infuriated me at first, but when I put my emotions and social conditioning aside, I could actually accept some of Dr. Tart’s premises. On a very basic level, I had to admit that I was subservient to my former husband most of the time and I enjoyed that. I too have to acknowledge the passionate marriage of my parents, especially during the time of my Dad’s illness, where my Mom who is a leader and brilliant in her own right, always consult her husband before making home decisions. I saw her stand by her man for 56 years of sickness and health all through to the time of his death.

Julie Rainbow, author of Standing the Test of Time, interviewed African American couples who had been married for more than fifty years and found a “Michelle Obama” like devotion in all of these couples in spite of infidelity or other catastrophic family trouble as fundamental to the longevity of their marriage. Some of the ladies who were interviewed earned their doctorate degree, became Vice Presidents in their profession, were homemakers, educators, or business owners but were feminine at home.

I know that we are one of the two wings of a bird symbolizing the beauty, symmetry, and balance required to fly. Women, who are feminine, soar!

Femininity is vogue. Let’s do our part to keep it fashionable for the good of humankind.

Take the Risk

LeBron James, Mr. Millennium Basketball Star, is having his challenges with his current team the Miami Heat. I suspect that he knew challenges would come as he learned to gel with his new teammates this first year in Miami, but he risked it and left the Cleveland Cavilers with a smile.

Altruism pays. This former Akron, Ohio native is all about altruism. He is iconic for so many reasons. He is a game showman – ask a fan or just sit in the audience wherever he plays.  I have been there and was thrilled throughout the game. LJ-“Mr. LeBron”  is a good dad, he regularly visits his old Catholic school or community centers and spends quality time with the youth in camp programs. LeBron helps others.

A few years back he took a risk when he shocked the athletic community by firing his agents and replaced them with his friends from home with whom he grew up playing the game of basketball. They got the job because LJ (which is a brand in itself as is MJ (for the famous all-star Michael Jordan) trusts them to guard his financial and franchise empire.

That’s a risk; you’d better believe that it is. To trust homeboys with your millions…I possibly wouldn’t take that risk. Even though that is an improbable risk to take for me, I applaud LeBron James for deciding the benefits outweigh the detriment. “You can’t be afraid to fail, that’s only way to succeed,” says LeBron.

Do your own risk equation prior to making big decisions. What are you in a quandary about?

Here is how to Minimize Your Risk and Maximize Success:
1. Identify the Risk
2. Write the Risk down in the form of an “IF” question. For example – If I decide to write a book, what are my risks?
3. Take a sheet of blank paper and divide into two columns: Benefits and Detriments
4. List everything you can freeform think of. Do not second guess, just build your list in both categories…..write, write, write
5. Examine your list with an objective party. Try to select someone or two or three people who will offer constructive feedback. Someone who will probe beyond the obvious. Someone who will be tough and confident enough to buff out the true gains and risks.
6. Last, Set the list aside after you have completed Step 5. Mediate, mentally massage what you know. Think and process. Some practice I Ching as a decision-making aide.
Then decide your best course of action.

Don’t ignore risks, but more importantly don’t overlook benefits.
You are capable of making an informed decision…just do it aware of both the risks and benefits.

The main thing is to
Decide.

Follow Your Bliss

I found this website, serendipitously while researching  Yoga for an article I am writing, and just had to share it with you: http://www.oneletterwords.com/bliss

Go to this website and use the interactive compass tool to rate your level of bliss. I did it and my results affirmed my inner “bliss” but clued me in to an unclear professional “bliss” whenever I spun the wheel while concentrating on my work. I pledge to work on that until my bliss is congruent both inner and professionally.

Try the Follow Your Bliss compass for yourself.

The stream of consciousness connected with “follow your bliss,” writes author and lecturer Joseph Campbell, can be startling or affirming. Take the time to “identify your bliss and honor it” advises the bliss compass author Craig Conley.

Let me know how this worked for you. I found that I rank high on the bliss scale – good news!
Let’s honor our bliss together.

Be well. Be in joy. Be happy.
Peace.
