Tuesday Thought: Security

How secure are you?

This question may prompt you to think about what goes on in your mind. You may think “I am an idiot” after you make a mistake or you may hold grudges that indulge self-pity. Conversely, you may find it easy to celebrate success, yours or someone else’s. You may also readily accept responsibility for a mistake and use it to deepen your learning. The differences between the two sets of thought actions indicate your level of inner security.

“Mind is the master power that molds and makes and man is mind, and evermore he takes the tool of thought, and, shaping what he wills brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills. He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass. Environment is but his looking glass.”  ~James Allen

Who do you think you are?

Take a few minutes to reflect on this life pivot question. The value and esteem with which you honestly answer the question can track you to some hidden issues of debasement. Try this exercise:

I am _____________, _____________. __________ and I ____________. My life environment is _______________ and I enjoy _____________ of things about the manner that I live. My motto is _______________________________________________________________ and I take time to _________________ ___________, ______________, _________________ everyday.

Be Secure

Be Secure

NEXT: Write an affirmation for yourself (repeat this throughout the day)

LAST: How do you feel now that you have completed the three parts of this exercise?

Are you feeling more secure? Let us know what transformations occurred. Unlock your security, tell your story.

GO!

Go! On your mark, get set, ready, GO! This is the time, today, to go for what you want.  It doesn’t matter how farfetched your dream, how remote your goal, or how immeasurable your vision. What matters is that you have a dream, a goal or a vision.

It is time to go for it; get into the race for the finish line-the attainment of victory. Today is your day to take one elongated step and then another and then another until you are draped with or crowned a success.  No more wallowing, no more wondering, and no more wavering, go.

Tomorrow is twenty-four hours away, that won’t get you to finish today. Today is your GO day.  Garner your energy, renew your purpose, feel deeply your passion and GO!  Inculcate success; take on the confidence of an Olympic athlete for a moment.  They practice and train to respond to the word GO.

Be an athlete. Be you and never succumb to wariness. There are times in life that you feel tired and frustrated: tired of trying to make it in spite of all that you do, tired of waiting for your business to grow, tired of dealing with sickness, tired of a difficult boss.  You may feel tired of it all; that’s the time to GO!

Pump up your endorphins. Go on, hold on a little bit longer, and see the victorious end in colorful splendor.  You can’t allow yourself to become weary. You can’t be tempted to quit pursuing your goals and dreams -not now. Exactly what you want is right ahead.

Belief creates its verification.” ~William James

The dreariest moment is right before a victory. The darkest time of the night is right before dawn. The weariness of defeat is right before your success.  Claude Bristol in The Magic of Believing says the problem with most people is that they give up and get weary too soon.  They lose their passion, they discard their dreams, and they tell themselves they are a failure inches before what they wish is claimed.

The magic of believing is that you set your passion thermostat, you decide the pace, and you, and only you, own the mental fortitude to win.  Bristol says, “it needs to be in the spirit-that the work has already been done…actually see yourself successful.”

You are magic-believe it.

Now, GO!

Facing Forward to the Future

Okay, 2012 calendar year is three days away.  The best, most definite thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.  You know that, but do you know the best way to face forward for 2012?

Let me give you three proven best tips for facing forward to the future: anytime!

  • Know your power to create exactly or more than what you presently have.  Samuel Johnson says, “The future is purchased at the price of vision in the present.”  Embrace your present and inculcate the life staff of gratitude and you harness the power to create a new future facing forward.  A subset of this power pivot is to have a clear understanding of what you must do, create concrete plans of how you can achieve that, and actually doing what you purposed in a defined time period. In other words: SEE, KNOW, DO by a certain time.

Here is one creative way to SEE your power-design a dream board full of color and pictures of what you know you want to achieve. Oprah Winfrey advocates this, along with writing a journal, and a fast track to manifesting what you want.

A  suggestion to KNOW your power to create your future is to write a goal list full of incremental, definite steps that move you forward toward the new direction of goal. You may need weekly goal prompts in the beginning and if so start your goal list of weekly tasks that you must accomplish. Others may only need monthly prompts. Whatever scale you need, break down the year 2012 into those segments and commit to review each week or month your goal list of defined steps.

Last, seeing and writing mean little with DOING.

  • Pace expectancy.  “Live deep instead of fast” are the words of Henry Seidel Canby which should be etched in stone. I watched the biography of Harlem Globetrotter Medowlark Lemon on the Biography channel last night. One thing he said stuck with me, which paraphrased, is that he  knew deep within that he would play basketball at a very young age and practiced for about twelve years toward that goal. He actually never stopped practicing, according to his roommate, even after becoming the “showman” for the Globetrotters. Mr. Lemon paced his expectancy and powered the attainments in his future.
  •  Trust Tranquility.  Trust in the restful tranquility of your being and ability to fulfill the goals of your future. This means that you own the power to know that what you will will be done. No force, no selfishness, no cheating, no competition, no fear, no backward recidivist glances.  Then you can get about the business of active service assured in your belief that your future is achievable and forward facing.

Face Forward Future!

Miracle Monday: The “Dorothy” Effect

Good morning world of miracles. Good morning to each of you miracles in the world – wow! Life and the miraculous energy that surrounds and protects us is good.

This Miracle Monday: The “Dorothy” Effect

Last night I watched the last thirty minutes of the classic The Wizard of Oz and was once again captured by this movie based on the book by L. Frank Baum. Fascinating and Fantastic! I have watched Dorothy, toto, tin man, the lion and the scarecrow since I was a little girl at different intervals of my life and loved it. But, last night the deeper meaning of the story finally crystallized for me: You can have anything you desire when you have the heart, courage and mind to look within.

How profound! It is profound to see a movie, set in the late 1930’s, telling us “there is no place like home” within our inner being and belief. There is no place like the homestead of knowledge, a heartfelt belief and the courage to follow your own “yellow brick road” of success. What behaviorist, including me, have been saying is that there is no “secret” to success, it is laid out in front of you.

Let us review your success yellow brick road:

  1. Vision – clearly see your land of Oz where your visions and dreams to come true.  See everything in vivid natural color, feel the excitement of achievement,  and bask in the celebration of getting what you want or getting to where you want to be. Begin with the end in mind as says Stephen Covey.
  2. Action – follow the yellow brick road. Take a step, then another, then another…pick up the pace. Do something every day that move you forward and accelerates you toward each success marker you have set.
  3. Watch – be on guard for “wicked witch” obstacles that will come your way. Keep your focus and stay on the road.  Look for danger, step over pitfalls, detour past doubt, face the fears and dance your way to victory. Never give up, don’t stray off your destined path.
  4. Enroll – accept help. Enroll a mentor and get a team of true supporters you will guide your power.   This is important to keep faith in your inner power and have devoted supporters who have the heart, knowledge and courage to stand with and for you.
  5. Acknowledge – be grateful each moment for every person and circumstance that comes to you. Be mindful of thankfulness and pulsate gratitude. Attract what you rightly deserve and desire, give magnanimously and expect graciously. Share.

Dorothy knew there is no place like the home of love, knowledge and courage within yourself and now so do you.

Click your success heels together three times and repeat after me: There is no place like home, there is no place like home, there is no place like home.

There is nothing stronger than intuition

Nothing is stronger than intuition.

Intuition is what I call “inner trust.” Most people, including me, do not trust their intuition even though this inner trust guide is almost always in all ways right. But, you should tune in to your intuition. Author Laura Day in How to Rule the World From Your Couch, explains how your intuition will help you become more powerfully connected to your life. She says that intuition, which women have a stronger sense of, is the staff of success. Bob Scheinfeld in The Eleventh Element, calls intuition the X-factor for success.

Claude M. Bristol in The Magic of Believing, asserts that tapping into the subconscious guide of intuition is the most effective way of bringing into reality what you want. Shoghi  Effendi intimated the power of intuition in Five Steps to Problem Solving, a pilgrim note, that you must trust your inner voice.

At early growth stages we are taught to fight intuition. By the time children enter school their intuition begins to suffer because most children are not allowed the free will to follow their inner trust because they are taught to follow the rules. Then, often when a child enters school, robot learning and more rules follow. Not much longer after school control rules, are embedded in one’s behavior habits, adults further bury their inner trust with frenetic noise which is often confused with the notion that stress and over-activity is the normal ritual of growing up.

What a crock of deception! Noise and over-activity mask inner trust and cut off your inner hearing like a lap band does the intestine in bariatric surgery. Neither is good for the body.

Nothing is stronger than intuition. This I know for sure.

There have been some recent instances where I knew exactly what to do intuitively and out of poor habit abandoned what i already knew when Itried to ignore my inner trust. Each time that I did, I harmed myself. But, when I followed my intuition, honestly it was the perfect decision.

About a year ago I spent two and a half long days with James Arthur Ray in Atlanta. The sessions were energetic, engaging and well designed to make you a dry pocketed follower. Make no mistake, James Arthur Ray knows how to read people and the energy around them. On day two during an intermission I had the chance to meet him and give him a copy of my book, Climb Every Obstacle: Eliminate Your Limits! Without much mind thought, but clear impressions about energy, James Arthur Ray told me “You already know what to do.”

Truth is truth. What he said to me was true. I did already know what to do and so do you. Here are a few ways to boost your intuition:
1. Be still. Take time to listen in quiet certainty.
2. Tune to how you feel. Is your gut quiet or rumbling. Pay attention to that reaction.
3. Keep an intuition journal. This way you will have a source book of how many times your inner trust (intuition) was right.
4. Patience. Have patience with this new habit. It will take some time to undo so many years of rule programming, so keep un-layering and confirming your growth towards solid intuition.

Understand that the right to use intuition is a sacred privilege. Never forsake your inner truth; it will take you to sacred places you have never been before.

Trust yourself and soar!
