Monday Miracle: Patience

Today’s culture is fast-paced, full of cell phone transmissions, text messages, Facebook postings, Instagram notices, and Twitter tweets. Frenzy, even multiple smart phones is understood as normal.  Even so, patience is valuable.

Not everything should be instant. Patient deliberations are necessary, even in a frenetic fast-paced world.  Aresenio Hall, in a recent interview with Oprah on her OWN network, told Oprah that it took five years before a network accepted his “comeback” show idea for his late night talk show. He persistently shopped his idea to various networks and sought council from close friends such as Magic Johnson, Jay Leno, David Letterman to get their insight and confirmations.

Five years-that’s patience. Patience implies an intentional act of slowing down to consider options.  Consulting and deliberating is a mantra of success. Haste oftentimes leads to muddled disaster. Sure, it is correct to ponder and think about approaching decisions but over-thinking can also precipitate disaster. Success is a blend of patience and persistence.

Persistent patience is a virtue. What this means is that while you are deliberating or consulting with others whom you trust about an issue you are also plotting the needed steps to conclude with getting what you want.

Use discernment to your advantage. If you have a network of colleagues, friends and peers you can talk to-do so. If not, consider getting a mentor or being a part of a mastermind group. This way, you can bounce ideas, clarify your goal, and solicit the support you need to succeed. Neither of these steps are instant matters, patience is required but because of your diligence and persistence you will engage door-opening opportunities that would not have happened without patience.

Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.
~Napoleon Hill

Slow down, practice persistent patience.  Strengthen your capacity, diligently work-sweat a little. Think, think and think some more as you plot your actions. Oftentimes knowing that others believe you are capable of fulfilling your goal gives you the encouragement needed to embrace all of the stimulating growth challenges ahead.

Patience may prolong a decision, but the answer is solid.

Fix Your Own Life

It does not matter the source to which we turn outside of ourselves to fix ourselves, it cannot be done. Only you can fix your own life. You may read tons of books, meditate, take the advice of others, or become a life-fix guru (and these things are often positive) it stills remains fact that you are the only one who can fix your life.

Iyanla Vanzant has a new television show on the OWN network, Oprah Winfrey’s production company, that’s titled “Iyanla, Fix My Life.” In credit to her, she knows she is only a conduit. Recently on the Tavis Smiley show, she offered this comment, “My vision is to elevate the consciousness of humanity one mind, one heart, one life, one spirit at a time.”

Iyanla is a source, that’s all. The fix of your life is still up to you. Eckhart Tolle, in his book A New Earth, also describes his written works as a source. In the opening of that book, Tolle writes “This book is about you.” Of course it is about you, for you alone can fix the interpretation thereof to meaning in your life.

Tolle is a source, that’s all. The whole premise of the book, Climb Every Obstacle: Eliminate Your Limits! is that you are the CEO of your life, only you. It does not matter what obstacle you encounter, you have the talent, source, wisdom to transform that, in truth, transient obstacle into an opportunity step to a stronger inner awareness.

What you read, inculcate or advocate is a source, that’s all. The awakening that all of humankind is called to internalize and advance is entirely up to you as an individual who forms a part of a collective consciousness of healthy healing.

“Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstance.” ~Bruce Barton

You are superior to circumstance. You are superior to the ego in others and within yourself that tell you you are inferior. You are superior to temporal mistakes. You are superior to your past. You are superior period.

You are noble; ingest that truth for a while. Really feel your nobility-allow your inner nobility to transcend past labels. You are noble.

You are a perfect, superior being of nobility. It is your innate nobility and your superior nature that equip you to love yourself and others and consciously live in the pure freedom of acceptance in spite of perceived chaos. These two qualities-superior oneness and nobility- are the tools you already have inside that strengthen you to fix your own life.

Fix your own life; you can. Only you can.
