Fix Your Own Life

It does not matter the source to which we turn outside of ourselves to fix ourselves, it cannot be done. Only you can fix your own life. You may read tons of books, meditate, take the advice of others, or become a life-fix guru (and these things are often positive) it stills remains fact that you are the only one who can fix your life.

Iyanla Vanzant has a new television show on the OWN network, Oprah Winfrey’s production company, that’s titled “Iyanla, Fix My Life.” In credit to her, she knows she is only a conduit. Recently on the Tavis Smiley show, she offered this comment, “My vision is to elevate the consciousness of humanity one mind, one heart, one life, one spirit at a time.”

Iyanla is a source, that’s all. The fix of your life is still up to you. Eckhart Tolle, in his book A New Earth, also describes his written works as a source. In the opening of that book, Tolle writes “This book is about you.” Of course it is about you, for you alone can fix the interpretation thereof to meaning in your life.

Tolle is a source, that’s all. The whole premise of the book, Climb Every Obstacle: Eliminate Your Limits! is that you are the CEO of your life, only you. It does not matter what obstacle you encounter, you have the talent, source, wisdom to transform that, in truth, transient obstacle into an opportunity step to a stronger inner awareness.

What you read, inculcate or advocate is a source, that’s all. The awakening that all of humankind is called to internalize and advance is entirely up to you as an individual who forms a part of a collective consciousness of healthy healing.

“Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstance.” ~Bruce Barton

You are superior to circumstance. You are superior to the ego in others and within yourself that tell you you are inferior. You are superior to temporal mistakes. You are superior to your past. You are superior period.

You are noble; ingest that truth for a while. Really feel your nobility-allow your inner nobility to transcend past labels. You are noble.

You are a perfect, superior being of nobility. It is your innate nobility and your superior nature that equip you to love yourself and others and consciously live in the pure freedom of acceptance in spite of perceived chaos. These two qualities-superior oneness and nobility- are the tools you already have inside that strengthen you to fix your own life.

Fix your own life; you can. Only you can.

Monday Miracle

Make a declaration.

Most people do not get what they want because either they are unclear about what they want or the other percentage is reticent to talk about what they want. Well, it is time to make a declaration. Declare your independence, complete severance, from formless thinking.

Start this day, and every day hence, with a declaration. Say: I declare that I will eat healthy, low sugar foods today. Or you may say, I declare that I will add ten more minutes of exercise or meditation today. You may declare to visit someone you have missed and haven’t seen in a while.  It’s your declaration, as unique and intentional as your fingerprint. You don’t need approval; just declare this is what I want.

Your declaration contains the force for change.  When you declare your intentions, especially in writing, the universe rushes to fulfill your heart-deep want. You have the power. Consider the Aladdin myth where the genie in a bottle says, “Your wish (declaration) is my command.”  This legend of mentality is actually rooted in ancient texts of universal cannons of attraction. Take time to read Collier, Shinn, Campbell, the book of Paul, Towne, Rumi, Vedic writings, Baha’i scripture, Haanel or others in the same scope. You will find the same theme.

Know what you want and make a declaration for that.

Modern literature, The Secret or The Throne of Your Inner Temple, or Your Best Life Now or Climb Every Obstacle: Eliminate Your Limits! , makes the same direct claim-ask and you shall receive or you get what you pay attention to. The inference is that you can get what you want. There is no need to jump ahead, no need to hoard, no need to be malicious at all; it’s yours-earmarked for you once you know what you want and make a declaration for it.

In the world of physics or particle theory, the atom of energetic declaration starts a vibration that moves and energizes the rush of aide to fulfill your deepest desire. It is best to caution you here: the energy will flow to what you declare you want IF you do not block the vibration resonance with doubt, fear, or negative mind talk.

An intangible declaration can be transmuted into physical fulfillment.

Your declaration is yours to command.

Emotional Exercise 3

Strength can only be developed by practice and effort. Emotional Exercise strengthens the mental  power vital to success.

By now you have completed Emotional Exercise 1 and Emotional Exercise 2. Congratulations-you have undertaken two mental power components that strengthen your purpose vitality.  It will be helpful, as we proceed to Emotional Exercise 3, to review both exercises again. Remind yourself of WHAT you want and WHY these wants are important/valuable to you.  The emotional linkage of the two is vital to conquering doubt and fear.  Reminder: re-reading or even re-doing either or both is perfectly fine. I have done this exercise three times already and tested it twice out on a diverse population sample in advance of posting it to you. Repetition is good, practice and effort strengthens.

Emotional Exercise 3:

  • Take a look at the ten things listed in the column below:  Write ALL ten down on a separate piece of paper.
  1. Job and money
  2. religion/spirituality
  3. good health
  4. friends
  5. family
  6. independence/ability to make your own decisions
  7. self-respect
  8. being a loving person/being loved
  9. freedom
  10. good life/social parties/entertainment
  • Now, take away four of those from the list above. Just cross them out on your sheet of paper.
  • Next, take away four more. Cross out four more from the list.
  • Take away ONE more from the list.
  • STOP and look at the one thing you have left from the list. Really pause and see the word you have kept from your list.  This word is what you value and hold most precious.  This is your ONE THING that is sacred, soul-touching, most valuable to you in the present.

Write the ONE THING you have left on a separate piece of paper or page in your journal.  This is important because that ONE THING is your mental governor, the thing that you will do anything to protect and hold secure in your life.

  • Ask yourself – write down the answer here – am I making decisions and living the life that proves that this ONE THING is my lifeline, my purpose? Am I living on purpose – protecting what I MOST value right now?

I know this part of Emotional Exercise 3  is difficult, hard to use an inner scope of thought to see and feel the ONE thing that you value and then probe into how you are living to protect that ONE thing.  But, strength only comes with practice and effort.  Take the effort of clearly comprehend this ONE point of your POWER and TRIUMPH.  Once you inculcate this, you become a strong fortress.  Don’t hold back-make the effort. Identify what you are doing, or not doing, to strengthen your ONE THING. Write it all down, study this question over and over again. Over and over again, probe and study this question until it becomes a legitimate, honest true concentration of who you are; until it becomes an unarguable purpose that is only for you and only made for you and can only be done by you.

This is heavy stuff, but your mental freedom depends on the effort and practice of cleaning up the dross and defining in clear detail the ONE THING for you.

  • Write your ONE THING on multiple pieces of paper – post it notes, stickys, index cards,  poster stock, color paper.
  • Place your ONE THING everywhere. In the bath mirror, on exit doors, in your wallet, on the desk, in a photo frame, as wallpaper on your computer, in OneNote; see it often.

We will continue with Emotional Exercise 4 later in the week. For now, do Exercise 3 with fortitude and grace; see and concentrate on your purposed ONE THING.

Thank you for the trust and work you have done in Emotional Exercise 3 and for the tolerance you have exhibited to get you here. Know your ONE THING or work harder and with purposeful effort to get to know your one thing. Once this is crystallized and deeply ingested, you are on the precipice of lasting change.

I purpose you goodness, be well.
